Customer Feedback

The transformation of the outdoor space is absolutely incredible! We had high hopes, but the outcome is even better than we could have imagined, creating a vibrant and engaging space where our students now love to play and learn.

BACKGROUND

Twickenham Primary School, located in Birmingham, West Midlands, empowers every pupil to “be all they can be.” The dedicated teachers and staff foster an environment where children are encouraged to be kind, respectful, and feel valued, celebrating their independence as they flourish.

PROJECT BRIEF

The original outdoor space, a blend of concrete and grass, was largely ineffective. It became virtually unusable in winter and offered no clear purpose.

The school developed a clear vision for the area: to create engaging, challenging environments for every child. Actively supporting outdoor play and learning while significantly boosting physical development.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

With a clear vision for the outdoor spaces, Twickenham Primary School was ready to take the first steps to update all the play areas together. Paul, the School Business Manager, invited Fawns’ local outdoor playground consultant to visit.

The initial meeting consisted of an in-depth discussion regarding the school’s aspirations for each play area. Following this conversation, the consultant presented a comprehensive design and a detailed quotation, outlining a phased approach to bring the school’s vision for an engaging and challenging outdoor environment to life.

Once a final design and quotation was agreed for both phases, installation could proceed in their phases.
