Customer Feedback

“The space has improved significantly — it is now more adaptable and accessible, effectively creating an additional play area. The inclusion of different levels has made the playground more engaging, offering a sense of variety and exploration for the children. The Physical Development Blocks, in particular, are versatile and can be used in multiple ways, allowing us to transform the space depending on how we choose to use it each time. It also provides a great space for PE lessons or playtime, adding further value to our outdoor provision.

The children appear noticeably calmer in the outdoor space. They are able to create and design their own areas, which encourages ownership and creativity. This allows them to focus their experiences within defined zones and direct their play in a more purposeful and positive manner.”

“I would highly recommend Fawns to others and will definitely be using them again in the future. The communication was excellent throughout — from the office staff to the sales and project managers. The entire process, including the planning and delivery of the project, was smooth and well-coordinated. The equipment provided looks fantastic and appears to be very durable.”

BACKGROUND

Situated in the London suburb of Wimbledon, Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Primary School is dedicated to embodying its core values of love, respect, and responsibility. The school encourages each child to strive for their best while nurturing a commitment to the Catholic faith and service.

PROJECT BRIEF

Recognising the deterioration of their existing tower unit, the school required revamped play spaces that would enhance both physical challenges as well as imaginative play opportunities.

The schools vision included creating two separate areas equipped appropriately for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils.

Thanks to the dedicated fundraising efforts of the Friends of the School, along with generous parent contributions and successful school events, the necessary funds were secured.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

Following the identification of the need for 2 new play spaces, Fawns’ local outdoor play consultant, met with the School Business Manager. This consultation focused on exploring various concepts and developing plans for the two play areas. It was agreed that the deteriorating double tower unit would be dismantled and replaced with exciting, engaging equipment and safety surfacing.

A comprehensive design proposal, accompanied by a detailed quotation was presented to the school. After careful consideration and a few minor adjustments, a final plan was collaboratively agreed upon.

Our Lady Queen of Heaven School ultimately made the decision to partner with Fawns as our proposal stood out due to its innovative and imaginative ideas, offering a fresh perspective on outdoor play.
