Customer Feedback

“Fawns have a wealth of experience and knowledge which really helped us get the most out of the area we were developing as they were able to advise what would work well in the space and meet the needs and requirements of our pupils. Nothing was too much; each time we asked to change or edit our design this was completed quickly and efficiently. From signing off the project to the completed installation we were kept informed about the process and this completed well within the time frame given. Claire and Ricky were always contactable and on hand if we had any questions. “

BACKGROUND

Almeley Primary School is nestled in the rural village of Almeley, Herefordshire. The school is dedicated to providing an engaging and inclusive education, underpinned by a strong sense of family and community. With a team of committed teachers and staff, it offers a warm, supportive environment where every child is valued, heard, and given the individual attention they need to thrive.

PROJECT BRIEF

It was recognised that the children at Almeley Primary School needed more opportunities for active play, as well as a space that would support the development of coordination, balance, and strength.

The aim was also to promote personal, social, and mental well-being.

The school wanted to create an inclusive play area accessible to EYFS, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 children; ensuring all SEND children would have easy access the equipment. To achieve this, Almeley Primary sought playground equipment that would not only challenge pupils physically but also encourage teamwork, resilience and perseverance; encouraging building of friendships across all age groups.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

The Headteacher, Mrs. Keeble, having prior experience with Fawns at a different school, considered our company for their new playground initiative. The school’s funding, secured through capital funds and the efforts of the PFTA provided a defined budget for the project.

As a result of the school’s clear vision for the space, the local Outdoor Playground Consultant was able to efficiently develop a suitable design and quotation following a meeting with the Headteacher.

After some minor amendments a final design was agreed upon, meaning the playground installation was able to move forward. Ensuring the children would soon benefit from an exciting and inclusive play area.
