Key Outcomes

The play area has been modernised with new, high-quality equipment, creating a safer and more engaging environment for the children of Polehampton Junior School.
The redevelopment has opened up the space and introduced new physical challenges, helping children develop their balance, coordination, strength, and confidence.
Key Stage 2 pupils now have an exciting, year-round play space that encourages active play, physical development, and social interaction.

PROJECT BRIEF

The school had recognised that the existing play equipment was over 15 years old and had reached the end of its effective lifespan. Therefore, making replacement necessary to ensure continued safe use and engagement for the children.

The project was made possible through the support of the school’s PTA, who funded the new equipment through dedicated fundraising efforts carried out over several years.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

Fawns’ local outdoor play consultant met with Operations Manager Mr Rance to discuss the removal of the existing equipment and the installation of a new, modern play area. The school welcomed ideas and collaborated closely throughout the early planning stage.

Using the school’s input as a guide, Fawns presented a design and quotation to the Operations Manager. After a few minor refinements, the final proposal was agreed, and the project was approved to proceed.

Mr Rance confirmed that Playtime by Fawns provided the most competitive quotation, alongside the most comprehensive pre-installation service, with strong support from both the sales team and project management team throughout the process.
