Customer Feedback

Wow! Our themed play area, ‘Treasure Island’, looks absolutely amazing and the children thoroughly enjoy playing on the various pieces of equipment; the shipwreck is one of their favourites.  Our idea was based around children using their imagination whilst playing and this area certainly stimulates their thinking.  The stage is a big hit, especially for those who enjoy performing, whilst the quieter children will use the reading chair and mushroom seats.

We cannot fault the workmen, who were very friendly and worked hard until late into the evening, even during the sweltering hot weather.  Thank you also to Craig, who was always available to discuss the project with and the design team for your help.

BACKGROUND

Martongate Primary School is a school in a seaside town of Bridlington in North Yorkshire.

They are the first school in the county to receive The National Nurturing Schools Award. This really demonstrates the nature of the school and their desire to enhance the children and young people of the school.

PROJECT BRIEF

Martongate Primary wanted to develop an area that would be stimulating for all the children in the school. Altogether that would benefit outdoor imaginative play, interaction, physical activity, and display the importance of movement.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

Fundraising started in February 2022 with a Just Giving Page. As funds were still low, we knew this was going to be an ongoing project which meant there was time to discuss ideas and plans.

After Craig carried out a site visit and taking inspiration from the local area, an eye-catching design and quotation was created. This was sent to the school to review. Further discussions between Craig and the school resulted in some small amendments for the final design.
