Fawns have been exceptionally clear and supportive at every stage of the process, adapting designs to meet budget and ensuring that installation was quick and efficient.
G. Pattison, Head of School
The installation went really well, and it looks fantastic. It’s been really popular with all the children, and we are so pleased with the design!

Set in the historic town of Exeter, Devon, Lady Seawards Church of England Primary School is guided by its core values of Compassion, Aspiration, and Resilience. These values underpin everything the school does, from classroom learning to playtime activities, ensuring that children are supported academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
The school fosters a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity, and perseverance, equipping them to thrive both inside and beyond the classroom.
As a school and across First Federation Trust, the governing body since 2009. The school believed that playground facilities didn’t offer a fun breaktime for children.
The previous play area at Lady Seawards Church of England Primary School was installed directly on tarmac. Offering limited challenge and engagement for the children. Recognising the need to support physical development, particularly upper body strength, the school required new play equipment designed to encourage children to reach, grip, grasp, and even roll over.
The aim was to create a play area that was stimulating and accessible for children across the whole school, promoting both physical challenge and enjoyment.
Thanks to the hard work of the PTA and additional contributions from the local community, the school secured the budget for a new, engaging play area.
Fawns’ local consultant met with the PTA lead and the head of school to discuss ideas and explore possibilities. The school had an open and collaborative approach to innovative proposals. Using these discussions as a foundation, Fawns prepared an initial design and quotation which were presented to the school. Following some refinements, a final design was agreed upon.
The school highlighted that Fawns was chosen due to the creative and child-focused design, which prioritised engagement and physical challenge. As well as showing exceptional guidance and support throughout the process.
