Our brief from Mallard school in Doncaster was to supply and install a large, open ended climbing structure which would promote problem solving, imagination and adventure while catering for the many different abilities of the children at the school. They were very keen on being able to use the structure all year round. We felt that this was perfect for a member of our Pick Up Sticks range, irregular timber logs designed to replicate the excitement and exhilaration of tree climbing. The students at the school agreed, and invited us back to see how a special group of children in the school, the BBG’s or Brilliant Boys Group, put the equipment through its paces. The group, who are made up of the highest achieving boys in Yr6, have written about the equipment in terms of risk assessments and health and safety considerations as well as working on rules while playing on the equipment for the whole school.
