Eaton Primary School wanted the children in the student council to be involved in every step of creating a new play area!

So when the PTA decided the time was right they had brochures from various companies sent to the school for the children to start looking at different equipment. The children picked the Fawns brochure as they loved the designs and colours. The PTA agreed as the material used is fantastic quality and they needed equipment that would last.

The school council were then asked to brainstorm and share their ideas. The children decided they wanted something they could climb on, play on and hide under! The PTA members took all the children’s ideas and compromised on what was practical and within budget. The children in the school council were then presented with a few different items and ideas and were able to pick what they wanted from the selection.

The children’s involvement didn’t stop there, they were also asked to be involved with where they though the new area should go and helped the installation team get started!

Funding for the project was raised by the PTA, holding their annual May-Day with a jubilee theme. The day took place at the school with stall holders, BBQ, live band, May-Day Queen, birds of pray and vintage cars!

To keep the whole school involved the student council updated a story board of events on their notice board in the school, using pictures of the whole process. The children loved the final outcome and were excited and proud to be involved.

Lisa Clarke, PTA Chair said “Craig from Fawns was friendly and great with the children, he listened to all the children’s ideas and helped keep them informed and was very easy to get along with. The overall

e experience with Fawns was great!”
