Saving Plasters With Wetpour!
Turning wasteland into a fun and active play area has helped babies and toddlers at the Little Trinity Nursery enter a new world of activity - while keeping the usual toddler cuts and bruises at bay thanks to wet pour surfacing!
Part of Kidderminster's Holy Trinity International School the nursery takes children from three months up to pre-school age.
While children of all ages are encouraged to learn through outdoor play as much as indoor play the younger children were restricted as the play environment was considered not safe enough.
However with the help of an early years foundation grant the Little Trinity Nursery was able to invest in redeveloping the whole play area. Equipment included an Apollo Space Tower for the older children and a Jungle Oasis Canopy for outdoor learning - while providing an all weather protection for the children to play.
One of the most important aspects of the redevelopment was the installation of the wet pour surfacing as nursery manager Gaynor Carter comments: 'Our main aim in the redevelopment was to create a permanent safe play environment for the children. Historically the area was covered in tarmac - making it a hazard for the younger, not quite upwardly mobile, children. Since the wet pour surfacing has been laid the number of minor accidents has minimised significantly!'
"We found the level of service provided by Fawns great and the area manager was extremely helpful and friendly. We had a couple of teething problems which were dealt with quickly and efficiently."
